Year 3 Home Learning

As you know, your child is currently isolating due to covid19 safety requirements . We never want to ask pupils to stay home, but we must act within the guidelines set out for us during the coronavirus pandemic. Staying home supports our whole community to stay safe, and we really appreciate your understanding and support with this. We know it is not easy for parents and carers to manage an isolation period for pupils and we want to do all that we can to support you and minimise any disruption to your child’s education.

On this page you will find an Individual Isolation Plan. This is a two week home learning plan for pupils who are at home while their class remain in school. This details learning to be completed by your child on each day of their isolation. It may be that your child does not need to isolate for the full two weeks, so we recommend starting at day 1 and working through the days in order until your child returns to school. If at any point your child becomes too unwell to complete their home learning, please call the school office and report their illness as you usually would.

If at any point your child's class need to isolate, we will provide home learning for them on this page.

We have tried to make the planning accessible for families, so there is a mixture of online and offline learning. We have invested in setting up Microsoft Teams for use in home learning, and your child will have their log in details in their homework or reading diary. Children have practised logging in at school, so they should be able to do this on a laptop or smart device at home. Teams allows pupils to interact with their teacher, meaning they will get feedback on their work and the teacher can continue to assess and plan for your child during their time away from school. We also have a mixture of video resources included, either recorded by the class teacher or from high-quality resources that are available to us. If your child does not have access to a laptop or smart device, please inform the school as soon as possible so that we can support you to access home learning in other ways. It is vital that your child does complete the home learning if they are well enough to do so. The school closures last academic year have had a significant impact on pupils’ learning, and we need to ensure that this does not happen again.

If you have any difficulties with home learning during your child’s isolation period, please do not hesitate to contact us. Your child’s teacher can be contacted on the class email address, which is year3@ashhillprimary.co.uk. As teachers are currently teaching their classes in school, response times may be delayed. If your enquiry is urgent, please contact the school office.

We hope your child enjoys they home learning they have been set. We are very much looking forward to seeing them back in school as soon as possible.
