PSHE Curriculum

PSHE Vision Statement

At Ash Hill, PSHE education isn’t just another school subject. It’s an integral part of our school vision to give all our pupils an equal opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge and attributes they need to thrive both now and, in the future, “…crafting skills for life”.

We seek to equip our pupils to deal with critical issues they face every day such as friendships, emotional wellbeing and change. We also seek to lay a solid foundation for whatever challenges lie in the future, so that pupils are empowered to make good life decisions and demonstrate agency and resilience when faced with the responsibilities of living in an ever-changing world.

Our PSHE provision extends beyond the curriculum and includes assemblies, themed days/weeks and fully supports our school’s ethos and values. PSHE is part of our school’s broad and balanced curriculum supporting spiritual, moral, social and cultural education, citizenship, equalities, fundamental British values as well as the six school values. This approach seeks to help pupils recognise their own uniqueness and worth. It also empowers them to be safe, active, healthy, responsible and resilient individuals who enjoy positive relationships with others around them in the school community and wider society.
