PE & Sport Curriculum

P.E. and Sport

Sport plays a considerable part in our curriculum here at Ash Hill. Our values are determination, responsibility, resilience, honesty, consideration and community mindedness and these run through the core of all our sporting activities. We consider being physically active as essential for good health and well-being and that physical exercise and access to sporting opportunities can help improve children’s health, their well-being as well as their academic attainment. Therefore we aim for all children to have equitable access to high-quality PE provision and opportunities to experience and participate in a wide range of sports and physical activities. We are committed to providing a challenging, inclusive and enriching physical education which promotes a positive attitude towards sport and physical activity, for life. Ash Hill has an extensive fixture list throughout the year. The fixtures that we participate in provide the children with new experiences, challenges and a competitive sporting environment. Every pupil receives a minimum of two hours physical education per week, with the additional opportunity to take part in a variety of after school clubs. Our expansive school grounds allow space for pupils to run, to explore and to enjoy the outdoors.  Ash Hill & often use inter-house competitions to learn & develop these core life skills. Ash Hills' annual Sports Day is a much loved event bringing joy & excitement to the community.
