Geography Curriculum

Geography Vision Statement

Our aim at Ash Hill Primary School is for our Geography curriculum to inspire curiosity and excitement about the world, encouraging children to learn about people and places—both near and far. By studying the physical and human features of various localities, children develop a deeper understanding of the world around them and the diverse communities that shape it.

We believe in the power of learning through experience. Our pupils engage in hands-on fieldwork and real-world exploration, using geographical skills to collect, analyse, and communicate their knowledge effectively.

Our curriculum highlights the interconnectedness of people, places, and environments, helping children understand how these elements influence and transform each other over time. By exploring these dynamic relationships, pupils learn to value sustainability and recognise their role in shaping the future of their world.

Above all, we aim to foster a sense of belonging, joy, and purpose in our pupils in all areas of the curriculum. Through Geography, children celebrate their place in a shared world while becoming confident, compassionate, and informed citizens ready to make a positive difference.
