Beginning and End of Day: Arrival and Collection Arrangements
Our arrival and pick up arrangements are designed to support the children to have a calm and organised start and end to their day. We aim for the children and staff to be able to start the learning as soon as possible and to work up until the end of the day, making full use of their time in school. We expect everyone to be punctual so that the children all feel settled and have a sense of belonging by beginning and ending their day together and on time.
Our official school hours are 8:45am - 3:15pm
Morning Arrival
Our gates open at 8:40am. All children go straight to class and the classrooms to give children time to store coats and bags etc, settle into class and start their learning promptly. It is important to us that all children feel like they belong in their class and a settled, calm start to the day supports this.
Any child arriving after registration at 8:50am will be recorded as late. If your child arrives after this time then parents will need to report to the admin team in the school office and sign in their child, providing a reason for being late. If there are children who are persistently arriving late this creates difficulties for the child who is late and for the children who are already settled and starting with their learning in class. Therefore, it is very important that you are on time each day.
Afternoon Collection
The gates open at 3:10pm and all children finish at 3:15pm. This is the time that they will all leave the classroom and head to their collection points. We then lock the bottom gate at 3:25pm and the top gate works on an automatic timer.
Please refer to our 'Safeguarding Children Walking to and from School Policy' for year 5 and Year 6 children to walk to and from school without an adult.
